Wanna hear a song I wrote? It’s a poem from a while back. No catchy chorus, no weep-inducing bridge. Just a morbidly sorrowful song about our temporal lives and our impatience to move into the future.
Technical stuff: I don’t know what key it’s in. Maybe C#+m haha. My guitar’s in some dropped tuning. I really don’t have an excuse for my voice because it really is an excuse of a voice. I recorded this using my laptop’s internal mic with a free program called Audacity.
Tell me what you think.
Lyrics:
All our lives
Searching and seeking
All our days
Looking for answers
All these moments
Spent and thrown away
All our lives
Where has it gone?
We look ahead to what we can be
We glimpse at our past for good times’ sake
But never do we dwell on the joys of the present
Never enjoy what is current
Until the end when we think of the beginning
The ghosts of a future memory
Until we look ahead
The ghosts of a fading memory
We are
Just ghosts
